The problem of the uninsured is continuing to grow.ย  The federal government estimates that 45 million individuals lacked health insurance coverage of any kind during 2008.ย  Other research shows that tens of millions more Americans go without health coverage for shorter periods of time.

St. Maryโ€™s Hospital offers a Payment Assistance Program for hospital services to those patients who are determined eligible.ย  If you are eligible, you may receive services at no charge or at a discounted rate.ย  We are here to serve your healthcare needs, regardless of your ability to pay.ย 

Cover the Uninsured Week, brought to you by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is March 14-20 and St. Maryโ€™s Hospital wants to inform individuals without insurance in St. Maryโ€™s County that there are options.ย  Find out more about payment assistance in the hospitalโ€™s main lobby during our National Diabetes Alert Day activities on March 23 from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m.

On March 24, our payment assistance counselor will visit the St. Maryโ€™s Medical Center at Charlotte Hall from 3 to 6 p.m. to provide information and applications for assistance.ย  Also, staff will be on board the hospitalโ€™s Mobile Outreach Center van providing information at the following locations:

  • March 11 โ€“ McKayโ€™s Foods in Charlotte Hall from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • March 15 โ€“ Lexington Park Library from 1-5 p.m.
  • March 18 โ€“ McKayโ€™s Foods in Leonardtown from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • March 25 โ€“ McKayโ€™s Foods in Great Mills from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
