On Oct. 4, Gov. Ehrlich announced that the Board of Public Works approved $900,000 in Program Open Space funds for five projects in St. Maryโ€™s County.

Leonard Hall Recreation Center will receive $100,000 to install an air circulation and air conditioning system in the gymnasium and shower facilities at the recreation center. Wicomico Shores Gold Course Clubhouse will receive $500,000 to expand and renovate the existing clubhouse to bring the facility into compliance with current building, safety, and ADA codes.

Cecil Park Playground Renovation will receive $75,000 to replace old play structures that are in poor condition and new ADA accessible playground equipment.

Elmโ€™s Beach Park will receive $75,000 to replace old play structures that are in poor condition with new ADA accessible playground equipment.

The Three Notch Trail Phase II will receive $150,000 to extend the existing trail by approximately two miles from the Veteranโ€™s Home at Charlotte Hall to the St. Maryโ€™s/Charles County line. The asphalt trail will enable walking, biking, running, and rollerblading along the “linear park”.
