Waldorf, MD โ€“ On Nov. 2 at 4:30 p.m., the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to a detached shed fire located on Jefferson Road in Waldorf. According to investigators, the fire was discovered by the homeowner who attempted to extinguish it but was forced to stop due to high heat conditions.

Nineteen volunteer firefighters arrived on scene and brought the blaze under control in 10 minutes. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the fire to be from gasoline poured and ignited from the inside of the shed. One suspect, identified by the fire marshal’s office as Titus Burch, was arrested by law enforcement but has not been charged at this time.ย 

There were no injuries from the incident but the cost of structure and content damage is estimated to be $20,000. Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal’s Southern Regional Office, at 443-550-6832.
