St. Maryโ€™s City, MD โ€“ The annual Relay for Life at St. Maryโ€™s College of Maryland was held Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Michael P. Oโ€™Brien Athletics and Recreation Center. The event, which was chaired by Casey Roberts and Price Kinsey, started at 6:15 p.m. Survivor and Caregiver Lap. Subsequent laps included the Wizard of Oz, wheelbarrow, counter clockwise, freestyle, backwards, piggyback, โ€œdance it outโ€ and the final lap at approximately 2 a.m.

Among the fun activities during the Relay were a three-legged race, a birthday celebration, selfies with the president, “Jail and Bail,” head-shaving, “Stuck for a Buck,” crab walk, rock wall, performances by the Hawkettes, Inter Chorus A Capella and drum corps, open mic and the โ€œfight backโ€ ceremony.

The event raises funds for the American Cancer Society. โ€œRelay For Life has become an integral part of St. Maryโ€™s and we cannot wait to see it continue to grow in the St. Maryโ€™s community,โ€ Roberts and Kinsey said in a joint statement. โ€œEvery single team captain and participant is appreciated.โ€

In all, 17 teams participated. In addition to the college, sponsors for the event were Hawk Radio, Bon Appetit Management Company, Panera Bread, St. James Deli and Potbelly Sandwich Shop.
