
Park Hall, MD— On August 29, ย St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Schultz responded to Point Lookout Road in the area of Park Hall for a reported disturbance.ย
Upon arrival, contact was made with a resident who advised while he was sitting in his living room watchingย television, he heard,”a hiccup and a belch, from his back porch,” according to charging documents.ย
The resident advised he then heard his back storm door open and what sounded like someone walking through his kitchen. Moments later, “he saw a white male, approximately six foot tall with brown hair wearing only black underwear standing in his living room,” charging documents stated.ย
Upon seeing the male, the resident asked, “Can I help you?” The unknown male then attempted to walk back into the kitchen. According to the resident, he grabbed the intruder and escorted him out ย the front door of the home.
The resident then witnessed the intruder walk over to the fence. The intruder kicked a hole in it large enough for him to fit through.
While trying to locate the defendant, who was identified as Matthew D. Walchuck, 21, of Saint Mary’s City, contact was made with a person in the parking lot of The Green Door. That person was holding a pair of yellow shorts which he believed belonged to Walchuck.ย
After talking to several patrons at The Green Door, it was learned that Walchuck is currently a student at St. Mary’s College and that he resides campus. Walchuck was located in his dorm room wearing only black underwear.ย
Furthermore, Walchuck is approximatelyย six feet tall with brown hair. Contact was also made with an individual who picked up Walchcuk at The Green Door.
The individualย advised, “he responded to the parking lot of The Green Door to pick up a friend. While there, he observed Walchcuk standing in the parking lot wearing only his underwear and asked if he needed a ride home,” according to charging documents.ย
Walchuck was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, and intoxicated endanger person/property.ย
At this time Walchuck does not have a scheduled court appearance. Walchuck faces a maximum jail sentence ofย three years and two months and/or a maximum fine of $500.ย
