La Plata, MD— On July 10, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Dep.Davis responded to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center for the report of an assault on a corrections officer.

When Davis arrived on the scene contact was made with the victim who told Davis he was working at the Charles County Detention Center located on Crain Highway in La Plata.

The victim advised he went to a section in the detention center to move the defendant to a different section because of an earlier incident in the day. The defendant was identified as Jordan M. Hall, 22, of Waldorf.

Hall was locked in his cell, and the victim had the door opened and told Hall to bring his belongings with him. While exiting the cell Hall told the victim, “f*** you,” according to charging documents.

The victim told Hall to slow down and grabbed his arm to escort him. In the area of the stairs, Hall pulled away twice and turned quickly striking the victim with his property box in the mid section. The victim grabbed Hall to take him to the ground, and both tripped over the step into the shower falling to the ground.

While falling, the victim struck the left side of his face on the wood bench in the shower. The victim was able to position himself on top of Hall to hold him down.

Hall was charged with assault second degree, and assault second degree on a Department of Corrections employee.

Hall has a scheduled court appearance on August 23 at the Charles County District Courthouse. Hall faces a jail sentence of 20 years and or a maximum fine of $5,000.
