Phillip R. Adams

Waldorf, MD— On July 25, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Pfc.Baker responded to the bar at Phil’s Place located at Gallant Green Road in Waldorf for the complaint of a possible theft that occurred the night before.ย 

When the complainant arrived at the bar on July 25 to open the bar, it was discovered the cash register drawer and small safe from the back were missing. The complainant contacted the business owner to verify those items had not been removed with their permission, they had not.ย 

On July 26, at approximatelyย 9:30 a.m., Detective Kelly responded to Phil’s Place to obtain a copy of the surveillanceย video. Kelly made contact with an employee who provided a copy of the video.ย 

On the video, the suspect jumps a fence to gain entry to the side area of the business. The suspect then waits a short time to gain access to the business.While inside, “the suspect stole the cash box and safe from inside the business,” according to chargingย documents. ย 

Kelly was contacted by the Gang Intelligence Coordinatorย from St.Mary’s County, who advised the individual in the video was Phillip R. Adams, 37, of no fixed address.

Kelly conducted a person’s check through the Charles County local system for Adams. Kelly located personal informationย in the Charles County local system, to further confirm the identityย of the suspect as Adams.ย 

Adam is currently,ย activelyย wanted through the St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Department.ย The total approximate monetaryย loss from the business Phil’s Place is $250.ย 

Adams was also linked to a theft at a church in La Plata in which the La Plata Town Police were investigating. Adams was charged with burglary, theft and destruction of property.ย 

Adams has a tentativeย preliminary hearing scheduled for August 28, at the Charles Countyย District Courthouse. Adams faces a maximum jail sentenceย of 16 years and 6 months and/or a maximum fine of $500.ย
