At 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Kavanagh Road prior to Laurel Gove Road, Mechanicsville, for failing to give signal prior to turn, having a cracked windshield, and a license plate bracket covering the expiration stickers.
The driver was identified as Gary Alan Edinger, 49, of Mechanicsville.
A check through MVA indicated his driver’s license was suspended. Mr. Edinger was placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle revealed brass knuckles in the center console and a 12 inch dagger on the passenger seat. Mr. Edinger was charged with two counts of concealed deadly weapon, and driving while suspended. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
