Oakville Elementary School is the recipient of a $3,000 grant from the Target Corporation to provide early reading intervention for Oakvilleโs kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

โWe appreciate Targetโs support of public education,โ said Debra Bowling, Oakville Elementary School principal. โWith the help of the grant, we are able to train teachers and purchase materials to implement a research-based reading intervention for our students, grades K โ 2.ย It is our belief that early intervention is key to building strong independent readers. Targetโs commitment to education enables schools like ours to provide additional interventions for our young students.ย It is businesses like Target that make our community a great place to live and work.โ

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Target House, which serves as a home away from home for families of children receiving life-saving treatment at St. Jude Childrenโs Research Hospital in Memphis, and;
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Target Volunteers, where Target team members and retirees annually donate more than 300,000 hours of time to more than 7,500 community-based projects.
