At 2:02 a.m. May 6, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 3395 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the report of a possible intoxicated driver.
Officers checked the parking lot but were unable to locate the vehicle. A short time later Officer D. Chandler located the vehicle described as a white Honda Accord driving south on Route 5.
After making observations he attempted to stop the vehicle at Route 5 and Billingsley Road but the driver would not stop.
Officers were able to finally stop the vehicle on Overhill Way in Hughesville and took the driver into custody.
The driver was identified as a 15-year-old Waldorf boy who had taken his mother’s car without her permission. Officer D. Chandler is investigating.
