On June 2 at approximate 4:15 a.m. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision on Society Hill Road near Breton View Drive in Leonardtown. The preliminary investigation reveals a 2003 Honda Accord operated by Conner Riley Nauman, 19 of Clements was traveling southbound on Society Hill Road near Breton View Drive, Leonardtown. A 16 year old, female from Mechanicsville was a front seat passenger in the vehicle. Nauman lost control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to swerve off the roadway. The vehicle stuck a telephone pole then collided into a tree. After striking the tree, the Honda split in half. Nauman and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Both were flown to Prince George’s Shock Trauma with incapacitating injuries. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and the investigation is continuing. Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors.
