Tayman produces www.Bangcartoon.com, with widely known NFL Football parodies and other issue-based cartoons, such as โCheneyโs Got a Gun.โ
For three years Tayman, with the help of partner Tom Lacks in Ohio, has been parodying NFL news in the weekly Bang cartoons, with edgy commentary that has been discussed in NFL locker rooms and on television news across the country.
Tayman said heโs heard Bang cartoons have been talked about in professional locker rooms โmore times than once, โฆ and some of them kind of look at it like a badge of honor.โ
Sometimes a cartoonโs subject will cause a bit of a stir among the people and places parodied. Tayman wound up on the 6 oโclock news in Detroit, after his pre-Superbowl cartoon featured a player giving a tour of the cityโs crackhouses.
Apparently some affluent residents that didnโt even live in Detroit were offended and Tayman was called by a television news reporter. After a long interview in which Tayman defended his cartoon, he finally said sarcastically, โwell I guess Iโm sorryโ if anyone was truly and deeply offended by a cartoon.
The TV news ran a report that Tayman apologized to Detroit and they featured 1 edited second of him saying, โIโm sorry.โ
โI have heard through the grapevine, Iโm kind of like an evil second cousin,โ to the NFL leadership,โ Tayman said.
A Bang cartoon titled โGoing Postonโ about a pair of influential NFL player agents, Kevin and Carl Poston, landed on ESPN, and upset some people in Cleveland.
The Bang Cartoon site is exploding with new hilarious content, in the form of downloadable โPodcastsโ of radio comedy shows and sports talk shows.
Despite the name, Podcasts donโt require a special player or a Mac iPod, they are simple audio files that came be played on the computer or any digital player.
Internet Podcasts are a new interactive form of radio broadcasting, like AM that you can listen to a respond to, at your own pace.
Bang has five new Podcast shows: Meet the Mullettes, Ask Edna, The Red Hot Sports Chick, the Bang Cartoon Radio Hour and the Fan Hour.
