Thomas F. McKay has announced his plan to seek re-election to the position he held four years ago, President of the St. Mary’s County Board of Commissioners. “Our record of accomplishments, including reducing the size of county government, implementing seven tax cuts and prioritizing the services of county government is exactly the kind of government people have come to appreciate,” said McKay.
Mr. McKay currently serves as the President and Chief Operating Officer of McKay’s Food Stores and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodburn’s Lifestyle Market. He is also Publisher of Southern Maryland Publishing, Inc. Mr. McKay demonstrates strong leadership with proven financial management experience.
“In today’s trying economy people are reaching out to proven leaders who understand the challenges being faced by businesses, small and large, and by the citizens of Maryland as they struggle to make ends meet,” says Thomas McKay.
Over the next several weeks Mr. McKay will layout his plans to make St. Mary’s County government a “center of excellence” in local government.
