Lexington Park, MD – J. Howard Thompson is the Democratic candidate for president of the St. Maryโs County Commissioners. Thompson has lived in St. Maryโs his whole life, graduating from Great Mills High School in 1976. He also attended Charles County Community College (now CSM), where he earned a professional license as both a master electrician and stationary engineer. Thompson currently works as the manager of a hotel and conference center for Seafarers International Unionโs Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship. He started with them as an electrician apprentice 32 years ago.
On top of his business endeavors, Thompson is a volunteer for Christmas in April St. Maryโs County and has done so for all 28 years of the program’s existence. He previously served as a commissioner for the St. Maryโs County Board of Appeals, as chairman, and is currently the chairman for the St. Maryโs County Planning Commission.
Thompsonโs personal goal is to โassure that St. Maryโs County continues to be the best place for our present and future generations to live.โ
