Pomfret, MD – On Feb. 22 an occupant discovered a fire that ended up completely destroying their home.
At about 2:31 a.m. a call was placed for a house fire. Bryans Road, La Plata, Marubury, Potomac Heights, Waldorf, Indian Head and Accokeek volunteer fire departments responded.
It took 45 firefighters about 40 minutes to control the fire. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
Three firefighters sustained minor burns and were treated and released at the scene.
Seven occupants of the home have been displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
