The 26th Annual Spring Fling Classic Car Show was held Sunday on the square in Leonardtown. More than 300 antique and street rods were on display with the skies overcast but otherwise cooperative. Food and other vendors were also on hand.
The show is sponsored annually by the St. Mary’s Rod and Classic Car Club, founded in 1985 by a small group of classic car owners. The club currently has 35 members and meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Leonardtown Commissioners’ meeting room. In addition to the show, activities include a Summer Picnic, Christmas Party, Veteran’s Day Parade and Hospice Ride and other auto related events.
Also, Wednesday evenings from March to October the club holds a meet and greet with like mind car nuts from the surrounding area.
