On August 31, 2010 at 5:24 a.m., police units responded to a residence in Lexington Park for the report of an armed robbery.ย  Investigation revealed three suspects forced open a rear door and made entry into the residence armed with a rifle.ย  Once inside, the suspects stole property belonging to the residents.ย  The three suspects fled the scene in a Jeep Grand Cherokee displaying the new style Maryland license plate.ย  The investigation led officers to a residence on Cherryfield Road in Drayden, Maryland where they located the suspects Grand Cherokee.ย  A perimeter around the residence was secured by patrol personnel at which time two suspects exited the residence and were taken into custody without incident.ย  Shortly thereafter, the remaining residents exited the residence and were also taken into custody.

ย The suspects in the armed robbery were identified as Michael Page Barnes, age 19, Pierre Rasheed Chase, age 18 and Timothy Patrick Hogan, age 18, all of Drayden, Maryland.ย  All three were arrested, charged with armed robbery, first- degree burglary and first-degree assault.ย  They are currently incarcerated in the detention center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.ย 

Further investigation by BCI detectives revealed on August 30, 2010 at approximately 3:00 p.m. a female victim and her daughter were approached by two subjects on Rutherford Drive in Great Mills, Maryland.ย  The subjects used force to steal the victimโ€™s purse which containing various personal items and fled in a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a third subject.ย ย  The subjects and the vehicle involved in the Rutherford Drive robbery matched the description of the suspects and the vehicle used in the armed robbery in Lexington Park.ย  BCI detectives are continuing the investigations and further charges are pending a review of the cases with the States Attorneyโ€™s Office.ย

Barricade Situation Comes to an End

The barricade situation hasย ended as the remaining maleย suspect, a female andย infant haveย came out of the house.

Police are on the sceneย of a possible barricade situation on Cherryfield Road in Drayden.ย Inside the home is believed to be an armed male, a female and newborn baby. According to witnesses at the scene, this event began around 6 a.m., as an armed home invasion in Lexington Park in the Patuxent Homes neighborhood, whereย three males forced their way intoย a house with what is reported to be shotguns and assault-style rifles.

Authorities received information which led investigators toย a home on Cherryfield Road. After authorities surrounded the home in Drayden, two men surrendered and were taken into police custody. The male remaining inside the home refuses to come out. Hostage negotiators are headed to the scene. No other details are available at this time.

As police were responding to the initial call for the home invasion in Lexington Park, one St. Mary’s County deputy was involved in a single motor vehicle accident. The officer was not injured.
