At 9:27 p.m. May 14, a citizen driving passed the Lexington Park Exxon on Great Mills Road at FDR Blvd, Lexington Park, reported seeing a suspect entering the business through a window.

Deputies arrived on the scene and surrounded the business. A short time later the suspect was observed moving inside the business.

Apprehended inside was Ronald Joseph Strain, 40, of no fixed address.

The suspect had thrown a car battery through a window and stood on a trash can to access the window.

Strain was charged with Property Destruction under $500 and 2nd Degree Burglary.ย  He is held at St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.
