Golf devotees are invited to tee off for the United Way, Tom Hejl-King for a Day Golf Tournament on Monday, March 8 at Twin Shields Golf Course, starting at 9:30 am.
Tournament prizes will be awarded for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Long Drive, Closest to Pin, and Putting Contest. Hejl, candidate for King of United Way of Calvert County’s annual Mardi Gras, says “I hope after a long, hard winter, we can get a lot of folks out to support a worthwhile cause.” Hejl carries the title of Lieutenant Colonel for the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, and has served passionately on the United Way of Calvert County Board of Directors for the pastย three years. “If you have the ability to help people and make a difference in our community, getting involved with United Way is the perfect avenue to do that,” says Hejl.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit 36 local human service programs that address critical needs in Calvert County. The entry fee for golfers at Hejl’s tournament is $95 per person or $380 per foursome. Payment prior to February 25 guarantees you a reduced rate of $85 per person or $340 per foursome. Hole sponsorships are also available for $200 each. Make checks payable to United Way of Calvert County and forward to Tom Hejl at 30 Church Street, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
