The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for most of Maryland, in effect until 5 p.m.
Near noon a thunderstorm complex will be moving across the metropolitan area of DC and Baltimore.

Additional severe storms are expected to develop ahead of the cold front moving in the area before 5 p.m.
Severe thunderstorms will be capable of producing wind gusts of 60 mph or greater and large hail.

Tornadoes are also possible, especially along and east of the Interstate 95 corridor.
