At 2:17 a.m. June 18, Officer D. Walker of the Charles County Sheriffโs Office stopped a vehicle on Crain Highway near Smallwood Drive in Waldorf because the driver appeared to be intoxicated.
Investigation revealed the driver, Vincent James Butler, Jr., 41, of Waldorf was intoxicated, was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and did not have a license.
During his investigation, Officer Walker recovered approximately $7,000 worth of cocaine packaged for distribution.
Butler was charged with driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated by drugs and alcohol, possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, narcotic production equipment, driving without a license and failure to drive right of center.
He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.
