Lexington Park, MD โ€“ On November 12th, while conducting surveillance in the area of Great Mills Road and FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park, Deputy Cole observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop. Subsequently, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle.

During the traffic stop, the deputy detected what appeared to be a moderate odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The suspect, Michael Fitzgerald Dobbins, Jr., age 28, of Lexington Park, was asked to exit his vehicle.

An investigation of the vehicle revealed a handgun, bullets, and an expired learnerโ€™s permit.ย  Dobbins was transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center.

He was charged with Handgun in Vehicle, Handgun on or about a person, Possessing Regulated Firearm, Obliterate the Manufacturer’s Identification Number on the Firearm, Driving Motor Vehicle without a License and Failure to Display License on Demand.
