Prince Frederick, MD— On March.10, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Trigg and Sgt. Basham responded to Mason Road in Prince Frederick for a reported CDS violation. The Calvert Control Center advised there was a tan Toyota in front of the residence, and a possible drug transaction was occurring.ย
The three occupants of a vehicle were identified as Miranda Bryant, 29 ย of Huntingtown; Bertina Thompson, 25 ย of Prince Frederick; and ย Shantell Hurley, 27, also of Prince Frederick. According to charging documents, “Basham observed the driver (Hurley), put her right hand in front of her face and reach toward the floor with her left hand.”
Basham also observed Bryant take something off her lap and put it in the glove box. Basham further observed Thompson spill something on her lap, moved her hands to her chest and changed seats. Basham provided verbal commands to all suspects to stop moving and show their hands.
A check of the glove box, “located a Newport cigarette box with a folded dollar bill tucked into the cellophane. Inside of the folded dollar bill was a white powder. Also located was a blue straw which was cut short and had white powder residue inside of it,” according to charging documents.
Multiple pills were found within the car, all being controlled dangerous substance, which is only available for prescription use only.ย
According to charging documents, “All three suspects said to one another, “whoever’s stuff this is you need to take responsibility for it.”ย
All three occupants were arrested and charged with possession of a synthetic narcotic (Endocet), possession of a dangerous nonnarcotic drug (Alprazolam) and for possession of paraphernalia (cut straw).
All three occupants have a scheduled court date of June 6 in District Court.ย
