At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday evening local firefighters responded to the parking lot adjacent to the Best Western and Donovan’s Irish Pub on Rt. 235 in Lexington Park. Smoke was billowing from beneath the hood of a deserted truck parked there.

Responders worked using flashlights as they pried open the hood and drenched the flames and smoke beneath. The fire was quenched within 5 minutes, but firefighters continued to work with the heavy smoke for half an hour.
Responders then visited the Best Western Hotel and Donovan’s Pub to search for the vehicle’s owner. He could not be located. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
