At 10:58 P.M. on June 4, crews from Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department Co. 1, Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 19, and Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 79 were alerted for the rescue assignment on the 23000 block of Maypole Road in Leonardtown. Company 1 responded with Squad 1 and Engine 11, Company 19 with Ambulance 197 and 198, and Company 79 with Ambulance 799. The St. Mary’s County Sheriffs Department arrived on scene to find a single vehicle into a tree with a single occupant. Rescue crews arrived on scene and upon assessing the patient, requested a helicopter for transport to a trauma center and then continued to ask for the county medic for seizure like activity. Trooper 2 was dispatched along with St. Mary’s Advance Life Support who responded with Medic 291. The patient was removed from the vehicle and transported to the shopping center on Merchants Lane to meet the trooper for transport to the P.G. Trauma Center. Crews operated on scene of the incident and landing zone for 60 minutes
