At 5:13 p.m. May 23, Bay District Volunteer Fire Department and Lexington Park Rescue Squad responded to a vehicle crash at Rt. 235 and FDR Blvd, reports Fire Sergeant Jeff Evans.
Chief J. Gould advised Communications that he had two vehicles with one patient still in the vehicle requiring extrication.
Engine 32 under Sgt. Evans pulled to the side of the scene and the crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle, moving the other vehicle away for extrication and starting patient care along with securing power to both vehicles.
Squad 3 Chief 3A Smiley advised the crew we would be doing a roof flap at the “C” post. The overall extrication took 20 minutes to complete.
Trooper 2 helicopter was then called for 2 patients to be flown.
One patient was transported to St. Maryโs Hospital by Ambulance 68 and they had a total of seven signed refusals of medical care.
Units cleared the scene at 6:06 p.m.
