At 6:36 A.M. on June 6, 2011, crews from Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2, Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 29, and Dentsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 15 were dispatched for the rescue assignment at the intersection of Mechanicsville Road and Three Notch Road (Rt. 235) in Mechanicsville with reports of two vehicles with one overturned. Additionally Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 79 and Benedict Volunteer Fire Department Co. 5 EMS were dispatched. Squad 2 responded with the fire chief for Company 2 and Ambulance 798 for Company 79 along with MD State Police and St. Mary’s County Sheriffs Department. Upon arrival on scene, crews found two vehicles that were involved with one that had rolled over. Upon sizing up the scene, crews determined they had one patient who was trapped in the vehicle that had rolled over. Crews worked swiftly to extricate the patient and provide patient care. The single patient was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. Crews operated on scene for 34 minutes.
