On September 18, 2015, Sgt. Clay Safford investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the Leonardtown Burchmart located on the 250000 block of Point Lookout Road.
Upon activation of the patrol car emergency lights, the suspect Robert C. Russell III, age 21, of California, hastily began putting items toward the driver, Melinda M. Davis, age 30 of Lusby.
The occupants were directed to leave the vehicle, and a K-9 scan revealed a suspected CDS smoking device that contained crack cocaine residue. A probable cause searched revealed suspected crack cocaine wrapped in plastic and two hypodermic needles. Russell and Davis were both placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
They were charged with CDS Possession – Not Marijuana: Cocaine and CDS Possession Paraphernalia.
