Aberdeen, MD – Two Southern Maryland teams were crowned champions in their classifications at the Maryland High School Baseball Championships Memorial Day Weekend at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen.
Monday afternoon, May 30, the La Plata High Warriors defeated Williamsport 4 – 1 to win the 2A championship. It was the Warriors’ second state title.
Monday evening, the Huntingtown High Hurricanes rallied in the seventh inning to edge Chesapeake High for the Class 3A title. It was the ‘Caines first-ever state championship in baseball.
