On Saturday, May 30 at approximately 11:15 p.m., fire and rescue units from Bay District, Lexington Park and other areas were called to the site of a single car personal injury accident in the area of 22531 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.

When authorities arrived on the scene,ย  they discovered a single male victim out of a wrecked vehicle unconscious and not breathing. CPR was performed and Trooper 7 was called. CPR continued and first responders were unable to stablize the victim and Trooper 7 was cancelled. The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where efforts to save him continued for another 25 minutes, but the victim passed.

Various witnesses said the driver was going between 45 an 65 mph with some reporting that the driver never hit his brakes and apparently drove into a Ulity First pole and bricks and that the vehicle kept moving. The vehicle ran over a new traffic light pole, knocking it approximately 125 feet down the roadway.

Authorities called SMECO because power lines were down across the roadway. Traffic was stopped in both directions on Three Notch Road to allow for power line repair and the accident reconstruction team access to the accident scene. Firefighters on the scene were unsure if there were any other victims involved in the crash and used thermal imaging equipment seeking other injured parties. None were found.

There are no other details available at this time with the accident still under active investigation.
