Pomfret, MD โ€“ A team of Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigatingย a fire which claimed the life of an adult male victim. The fire at 5350 Harley Place was reported justย after 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21. Firefighters arrived on scene and discovered a male victim in the bedroom of theย home.

The home is described as a one story single family home. Investigations have determined thatย the fire originated in the master bedroom of the home. Family members reported hearing smokeย alarms sounding after discovery of the fire. Nearly fifty firefighters controlled the fire in 20 minutesย time from numerous area departments.

The victim will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore toย determine the identification and cause of death. The Charles County Sheriffs Department is assistingย in the investigation.

The investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing at this time. Further
details of the victim, including confirmation of identification, and fire cause will be released asย additional information is developed.

Pomfret, MD โ€“ At 3:15 p.m. there was a reported dwelling fire in Pomfret at 5350 Harleys Place. There are reports of heavy smoke coming from the one-story dwelling with one person trapped in a bedroom.
