Huntingtown, MD – Three firefighters were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital with minor burn injuries on Jan. 17.
At ย 9:07 p.m. Huntingtown, Dunkirk, North Beach, Prince Frederick, and St. Leonard VFD’s responded to a house fire on Hunting Creek Road.
The cause of the fire was a malfunctioning wood stove.
It took 35 firefighters and about 20 minutes to control the fire and the damage is estimated at a total of $215,000.
According to the report, the fire completely destroyed the house and its contents. The occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The Huntingtown VFD responded to a call about a house fire at about 9:10 p.m. on Saturday night.ย It took about four hours for the department to control the fire and clear the scene.
Three firefighters were taken to the emergency room and treated for first and second-degree burns and then were released.
A fourth firefighter reportedly suffered back injuries during a fall.
