The serious accident, which closed Rt. 235 for several hours on Saturday, and sent multiple people to the hospital, involved six different vehicles.
The first vehicle,ย operated by Ernest Charles Mincey, struck a second vehicle, operated by Serena Ann Hahn, which was stopped at the stop light.
The second vehicle, after being struck,ย proceeded to drive onto the right curb and sidewalk, after striking the rear of vehicle number 4, operated by Arden Joseph Keck II. Hahn’s vehicle cameย to rest on the sidewalk.
Vehicle #1 then struck another vehicleย (number 3),ย which was operated by Dana Lynn Lomas,ย and was also stopped at the light. This caused vehicle number 3 to strike vehicle number 4 (Keck’s vehicle, which was also hit by Hahn), which was in the intersection.
Vehicle #1 continued striking vehicle #5 (operated by Michael Lawrence Higley) in the intersection before it came to its final rest in the intersection, on its roof.
Vehicle #4, after being struck byย twoย vehicles,ย subsequently struck vehicle #6 (operated by Frederic mohamud Felcon) in the intersection.
Alcohol is a believed to be a contributing factor on the part of Mincey, who was operating the initial at-fault vehicle. The result of the Toxicology report is pending.

The Bay Net story from the day of accident:
At approximately 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, February 3, a serious crash near Lone Star in Lexington Park closed southbound lanes of Rt. 235.
The crash involved multiple cars and injured several occupants. Ambulances and helicopters responded to the scene to transport injured patients.
Two hours after the crash, at 4 p.m., 235 Southbound remained closed and survey teams were at the scene. Detours were put in place but traffic was backed up from Pegg Road to beyond LoneStar restaurant.
