UPDATE APRIL 29: Charles County Sheriff Rex W. Coffey said officers assigned to the Charles County Sheriffโs Office Warrant Fugitive Unit, along with the members of the US Marshals Office, located and arrested Darnell Laquay Proctor, 22, of Charlotte Hall, and Azsha Dayne Butler, 21, of Charlotte Hall, early this morning in an apartment in King George, Virginia. Proctor and Butler were wanted in connection with the April 14 murder of Raymond Anthony Barnes, 34, of Lexington Park. Barnes was shot in the 12200 block of Plater Road during an argument with Proctor. Immediately after the shooting, Proctor fled the scene in a car driven by Butler.ย Both suspects will be extradited to Charles County where they will be charged with first-degree murder. The investigation is continuing.

Detectives Continue Search for Suspect in Plater Road Shooting
Warrant Obtained for Suspectโs Girlfriend/ Reward Offered for Information
Charles County Sheriffโs investigators are continuing their search for homicide suspect, Darnell Laquay Proctor, 22 of Charlotte Hall, who is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Raymond Anthony Barnes, 34 of Lexington Park.
Barnes was shot on April 14 in the 12200 block of Plater Road during an argument with Proctor. Immediately after the shooting, Proctor fled the scene in a car driven by his girlfriend, Azsha Dayne Butler, 21 of Charlotte Hall. The car was recovered later that day but neither Proctor nor Butler has been seen since.
Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant charging Butler in connection with this case. Butler is a black female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 140 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
An arrest warrant is already on file charging Proctor with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Proctor is 5 feet 7 inches, 140 lbs, with black hair and green eyes. He may be armed with a gun.

UPDATE: Arrest Warrant Issuedย for Homicide on Plater Road in Charlotte Hall
On April 14 at 4:43 p.m., officers responded to the 12200 block of Plater Road in Charlotte Hall for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they observed the victim, Raymond Anthony Barnes, Jr., 34 of Lexington Park, lying in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
