Effective July 20, 2012, water restrictions will be upgraded from Level I to Level II for the following public water system in St. Mary’s County:
Leonardtown Farms
Villages at Leonardtown
Also, Level II Water Restrictions remain in effect for the Forrest Farm public water system. These restrictions have been imposed as a result of water usage which exceeds permitted limits in these communities. These restrictions will continue until the monthly water usage for these communities reduces to the limits set by the Commission’s Water Appropriations Permits, which are issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment. Water restrictions include limiting the hours of outdoor irrigation and limiting the use of water for outdoor cleaning.
The St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission is requesting the assistance of all residents in conserving this precious resource. Violation of these restrictions is a misdemeanor, punishable by fine or termination of water service.
