Followers of developer and activist Cornell Posey descended outside the Charles County Government office to say their piece. Cornell Posey said Americans need to be put back to work and that he aims to get youth more involved.
“The purpose of this rally is for human rights, jobs and affordable housing,” Posey said. “We have something going every month. We have an event on September 3rd for political hip hop and that’s trying to get the young people registered to vote. “
“The TEA Party is my brothers and sisters on the right; this is real grassroots for the middle class and the poor. What we’re trying to do is educate everybody on politics and trying to get our voice on Capitol Hill.”
The rally drew dozens of residents in the region from several different age groups. Following their rally, they attended the Charles County Commissioners Meeting.
