On December 19, 2013 at approximately 7:59AM, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received two phone calls from the same male subject reporting bombs inside Leonardtown High School, the Circuit Court for St. Maryโs County building, and the District Court for St. Maryโs County building. The St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office Criminal Investigations Division has assumed the investigation into the false report.
CID is asking anyone who may recognize the voice of the caller to contact Det./Cpl. Robert Merritt at 301-475-4200 Ext. 9042ย or to call CRIME SOLVERS at 301-475-3333 or text a tip to โTIP239โ plus your message to โCRIMESโ (274637). If your information leads to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this crime you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Update: 4 p.m.ย The St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office is seeking the publicโs assistance in identifying the male caller who reported this bomb threat. If you believe information you have is relative but feel it to be insignificant the Sheriffโs Office would still like you to report it. Please allow detectives to evaluate the information for value and significance.ย

Update: 1:30 p.m.ย The St. Maryโs County Emergency Communications Center (ECC) on December 19 at approximately 7:59 a.m. received two phone calls from the same male subject reporting bombs inside Leonardtown High School, the Circuit Court for St. Maryโs County building, and the District Court for St. Maryโs County building. Deputies were immediately dispatched to all three locations. Leonardtown High School was placed on lockdown. The Circuit Court building was evacuated. The District Court building was not evacuated.ย
Bomb detecting K-9 units from the St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office, NAS Patuxent River, and the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office responded to each of the locations and completed searches. No bombs were located.
