The initial call was at 0051 and police responded toย  Hawk Drive in Leonardtown. Upon arrival, police saw the subject look out the window at them, but never came out. The subject was stated to have had a psychotic history including setting his house on fire approximately 2 years ago where he was cutting himself upon fire dept. arrival and was threatening them. Additional units continued to arrive with 8 police units on scene for the night along with Leaonardtown’s engine 11 and an ambulance. Police were able to make contact with the subject via land line phone and communicated with him on and off through out he night. The only weapon officers were able to discern was what appeared to be a butcher’s knife. At about 0411, police began attempting to communicate with the subject via the P.A. system on one of the cruisers with no response from the subject. Upon me clearing the scene, the HRT team was beginning to arrive for a briefing and trooper 7 had been requested to come into the area.

NARRATIVE: On Monday, May 16, 2011 @ approximately 0051 hours, Troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack responded to Hawk Court, Breton Bay, Leonardtown, St. Mary’s County, Maryland for a report of a subject threatening suicide.ย  Troopers arrived on the scene and attempted to make contact with the subject inside the residence, who refused to answer the door.ย  MSP STATE and HRT, are on the scene and this investigation is still on going.ย  Please no phone calls, additional information will be provided as it becomes available.ย
