Hacksneck, VA – The body of a Southern Maryland man who was tossed in the Potomac River when the boat he was traveling in capsized has been recovered in a location 63 miles from where the November accident occurred, Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) have confirmed.
According to NRP spokeswoman Candy Thomson, the body of Roger Grissom Sr., 52 of Hughesville, was recovered Saturday evening, Feb. 11 in a marshy area of the Chesapeake Bay fronting the community of Hacksneck, VA. Thomson told TheBayNet.com that a homeowner made the discovery and notified authorities at approximately 6:30 p.m. Grissomโs wallet was still on his person, enabling authorities to identify him, Thomson said. His body has been transported to Norfolk, VA where an autopsy will be performed Monday.
Maryland authorities were assisted by the Virginia Marine Police and the Accomack County, VA Sheriffโs Office.
Thomson said Grissom is the 17th and final 2016 boating fatality in Maryland.

Hollywood, MD – TheBayNet.com has learned through sources close to the story that the body of missing boater Roger Grissom Sr., 52 of Hughesville was recovered Saturday, Feb. 11 near the Virginia side on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Grissom had been missing since Nov. 21.
