Washington, DC – Police in the Nation’s Capital have identified the intruder who was shot Monday, Oct. 22 after breaking into the building housing FOX 5 WTTG. Authorities said George Odemns was shot once by a security guard after forced his way into the building at approximately 3 p.m. A surveillance camera shows Odemns kicking out two sets of glass doors to force entry. Police report Odemns is in stable condition and is being charged with second-degree burglary.
Washington, DC – Various regional news sources reported shortly after 4 p.m. Monday that a security guard shot a man near FOX 5’s offices on Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest, Washington, DC. The incident occurred sometime after 3 p.m. District police said a security guard discharged a weapon, striking the alleged intruder. Television station officials said the person who was shot was attempting to break into the building. The wounded individual, who has not been identified, was transported to a nearby hospital.
