UPDATE:
At 9:17 P.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, rescue crews were dispatched to the 22000 block of Budds Creek Road for the personal injury accident reported head on with later report of two subjects trapped, one in each vehicle. Rescue crews arrived on scene to find two vehicles in the roadway, each with a single patient trapped with one of the vehicles having heavy entrapment. Crews quickly went to work assessing the patients and extricating them. One of the patients was declared a priority 1 patient and the other was determined to be priority 2. Shortly after, the patient in the SUV was extricated while crews continued to work on extricating the patient in the truck. As the patient in the truck was being extricated, command requested a helicopter for transport to a trauma center, but was denied due to the weather. Both patients were transported to the local emergency department, priority 2. The final fire/EMS unit cleared the scene at 10:00 P.M.
