UPDATED TUESDAY, Sept. 8

Lexington Park, MD – The Sept. 3 fire that damaged a mobile home in St. Maryโ€™s County remains under investigation, state officials reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze on Winding Way in Lexington Park did $50,000 damage to the dwelling and displace the family residing there.

โ€œThe fire originated in a rear bedroom of the home,โ€ stated Dfm. John Nelson, who added the family is being assisted by American Red Cross.

Thirty firefighters from Bay District, Second District and Patuxent River Naval Air Station responded to the blaze and brought the flames under control in 10 minutes.

The fire marshalโ€™s report identifies Joseph Swales as the owner of the mobile home.

Nelson and Dfm. Zack Dell are conducting the ongoing investigation. They were assisted at the scene by the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

Lexington Park, Md.— On Thursday evening, Sept. 3, around 9 p.m., several St. Mary’s County fire departments were dispatched to a mobile home fire in Lexington Park.

Crews extinguished the fire in less than 20 minutes. Fire departments that responded were: Bay District, Valley Lee, Pax Nas, and also Hollywood Volunteer Fire Departments.

The fire occurred at Lord Calvert Trailer Park, located on Winding Way Road.
