UPDATE- 11:30 a.m.- DC officials have confirmed the two men pulled from the Potomac River near the Key Bridge Sunday evening have died. Danny Garcia and Calvin Cerpas, both 30, and of Manassas, VA
Update – One person was found and pronounced deceased at the scene and the other person was taken by EMS in critical condition.
Washington DC – Aug 27, According to news sources, two people disappeared in the Potomac River Sunday night.
One person has been rescued and taken by EMS in critical condition. One person is still missing. Witnesses said two people went into the water and did not resurface.
Land Units and Fireboat first arrived on the scene.
DC Fire and EMS went to the scene to search deploying two Fireboats and two Zodiac boats to the scene. DC Police and the U.S. Park Police helicopter were also on the scene.
The two people are related. According to police, they are cousins.
There is no further information at this time.
