Lexington Park, MD – On Nov. 3, Deputy J. Bare responded to the 21000 block of Rodine Way in Lexington Park for the report of a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputy Bare made contact with witnesses who advised they observed a white Ford F-150 truck leave the roadway and strike a residence causing significant damage to the residence. The vehicle then fled from the scene.ย 

Deputies located the striking vehicle unoccupied on Chancellorโ€™s Run Road in Lexington Park. The owner of the vehicle, Jeffrey Nicholas Sams, 36 of Mechanicsville (pictured), was subsequently located a short time later after abandoning the vehicle on Pegg Road in Lexington Park. Sams was arrested and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center where he was charged with multiple traffic citations related to the accident.


Lexington Park, MD – A truck driven by an unidentified person rammed the front of a townhouse in the Westbury subdivision of Lexington Park Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 3. The homeowner, who told The BayNet she was at work when the mid-afternoon incident occurred, said her dog was home at the time the truck caused damaged to the exterior and interior of the structure. The homeowner, who asked that we not use her name, said her dog was fine.ย 

Following the vehicle left the scene and the driver remains at large. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The homeowner learned from neighbors they “saw a truck backing out.” The vehicle is described only as a white truck.

While repair crews were on the scene around 4 p.m., the homeowner indicated she would not be able occupy her home until further notice.ย 

“It’s a crazy world,” she said. “You don’t expect to come home from work to find this.”
