Investigators are probing a fire that heavily damaged a vehicle in St. Mary’s County, state officials reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze occurred Sunday, Jan. 5 at approximately 12:19 a.m. on Bay Forest Road in Lexington Park. “A citizen discovered the remains of a 2007 Lexus burning on Bay Forest Road,” stated Dfm. Don Brenneman.
“The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, responded. The investigation is continuing.” There were no injuries reported. Damage to the Lexus is estimated at $8,500. While the exact area of origin has not been determined, Brenneman reported the blaze was deliberately set.
