Huntingtown, MD – On Sunday, Aug.16, at approximately 11:20 a.m., a call was dispatched for a vehicle accident at Old Town Road and Route 2/4 with wires down.
As units arrived on the scene they found that a single vehicle going South on Route 2/4 ran off the roadway and struck a “Do Not Enter” sign and then struck the “power pole” holding the street light.
No one needed to be transported. The fire department extinguished a small fire caused by live wires down. The roadway to enter and exit Old Town Road at this part of the road is closed until SMECO can complete repairs.
