Mechanicsville, MD— On Sept 3, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ball responded to Syringa Court, in Mechanicsvilleย in reference to an assault.ย 

Upon arrival, Ball made contact with the victim who advised his girlfriend, identified as Kimberly A. Ker, 27 of Mechanicsville, had physically assaulted him.

Ball observed several fresh, bloody scratch wounds on his shoulder. The complainant and Ker have been dating for 18 months and live together. The victim further advised they had both been drinking that evening.

The victim went outside to check on the dogs and when he reentered the residence the defendant started a verbal altercation with him over him going outside. “The victim told her to leave and go stay somewhere else for the night,” according to charging documents.

The victimย stated he was going to call the police and Ker fledย the area. Ball made contact with Ker who was uncooperative at first and refused to give her account of what happened. ย 

Ker later stated the victim started to accuse her of talking to other men on her phone. Ker advised the victimย then punched her in the face and tore her shirt.ย 

Ker was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where she was charged with second-degree assault.ย 

At this time Ker does not have a scheduled court appearance. Kerย faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
