Charlotte Hall, MD – Charlotte Hall Veterans Home hosted its first “Meet the Artists” reception on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Residents, staff and the general public were invited to meet the talented artists behind the new gallery hung on the Assisted Living dining hallway. Artists spent much of the show sharing techniques and stories behind their work. Many residents shared their admiration with the artists while guests enjoyed finger foods and music.
The Crossroads of Hughesville Garden Club added a wonderful touch to the show with floral interpretations of 5 pieces of art. Everyone was extremely pleased with the results, despite this being their first show as well. The Garden Club members donate their time and talent throughout the year by maintaining the garden around the Home’s stone entrance sign and inside the main lobby atrium.
The impressive gathering of artists, family and friends of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home included Maryland State Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. Senator Miller spent time with each artist and expressed his appreciation for their talent.
Charlotte Hall Veterans Home would like to thank the artists, the Crossroads of Hughesville Garden Club and especially the Charles County Arts Alliance for this incredible opportunity. The gallery has brought life to our halls and brings a unique and beautiful touch for our residents to enjoy.
