At 9:55 p.m. Nov. 10, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 4800 block of Magpie Lane, Waldorf, for the report of an assault in progress.
Investigation revealed the suspects approached the victim, a 32-year-old man, as he was entering his home and demanded money.
A struggle ensued during which the suspects hit the man with an unidentified weapon. The suspects were still assaulting the victim when the first patrol officer arrived on the scene. The suspects fled on foot and managed to escape before officers could apprehend them.
The victim appears to have been targeted but the motive remains under investigation and the suspects have not been identified. Nothing was stolen from the victim.
