Donald E. Wilson

Great Mills, MD— On July 2, Maryland State Police Trooper Ruth responded to Chancellors Run Court in Great Mills for a report of a domestic disturbance.ย

When Ruth arrived on the scene she made contact with the defendant, who was identified as Donald E. Wilson, 46 of La Plata. Wilson advised that he was in a verbal argument with his girlfriend’s father about custody of his child.

Wilson stated his girlfriend’s father was yelling so loudly that the neighbors probably heard him. Wilson also advised that no domesticย dispute occurred.ย

After speaking with Wilson, Ruth spoke to the victim who was extremelyย hesitant to speak to Ruth and appeared standoffish. Ruth asked the victim what happened, which the victim stated, her mother had come to their residence begging her (victim) to leave Wilson.

The victim’s mother had heard that Wilson severely physically assaulted her early in the morning. Ruth observed physicalย signs of injury to her (victim’s) face, right eye and her right shoulder.ย

The victim’s mother stated, “He (Wilson) will come find her tonight and kill her, he beats her bad,” according to the charging documents.ย

Wilson was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, where he was charged with second-degree assault.ย

Wilson recently had a bond hearing, where his bail was set at $10,000. Wilson faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
